The Laboperator system supports "real-time" read-outs and remote control of instruments. Due to the used network architecture and depending on the topology for the individual installation the latency may vary. The mean latency between the original event at the device and the event being processed on the server is expected to be between 500 and 1000 milliseconds. Nevertheless, the system should never be used in circumstances of crucial control mechanisms aimed to ensure safe working conditions.
The Laboperator system should only be used by trained employees or under the supervision of trained employees. At no time should the general safety rely on a fully functional Laboperator system. Network failure or power outages can result in an interruption of automated tasks or control mechanisms at any time. Devices should only be remotely controlled in a manner where they cannot be left in a state of instability or danger as a result of connectivity loss or malfunctioning of the Laboperator system.
