Laboperator offers different Resources to work with: Smart Views, MeasurementsSamplesDashboardsWorkflow TemplatesWorkflow Step TemplatesWorkflow Runs, and Connectors. These Resources are organized in so-called Collections which basically represent folders.

Resources

Note: Using one click on a Resource selects it. To open the Resources a double-click is necessary.


Add a Resource

You can add various Resources to your Collections. To add them, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click on + ADD and select the Resource you want to add.
  2. Depending on the Resource you chose a new pop-window opens.
    1. Select the destination folder of the Resource.
    2. Enter and/or choose all necessary points depending on the Resource.
    3. Click on SUBMIT to create the Resource.


Move a Resource

  1. To move Resources please follow the steps below:
    1. Move to the Collection with the Resource you want to move.
    2. If you want to move all Resources of one Collection click on the checkbox in the top header.
    3. Click on the checkbox on the left side of the corresponding resource that you want to move.
    4. To move your Resource click on the folder with an arrow pointing to the right.
  2. Select the destination (Sub-)Collection.


Add existing Resources to Collections

  1. To add existing Resources to Collections please follow the steps below:
    1. Move to the Collection with the Resource you want to add to a different Collection.
    2. If you want to add all Resources click on the checkbox in the top header.
    3. Click on the checkbox on the left side of the corresponding Resource that you want to add to a different Collection.
    4. To add your Resource click on the folder with a plus.
  2. Select the destination (Sub-)Collection. 



Remove Resource from Collection

Note: A Resource can only be removed from a Collection if the Resource still exists somewhere else. To delete a Resource completely, it must first be archived and then deleted. More information can be found in the following chapters.


To remove a Resource from one Collection please follow the steps below:

  1. Move to the Collection with the Resource you want to remove.
  2. If you want to remove all Resources of one Collection click on the checkbox in the top header.
  3. Click on the checkbox on the left side of the corresponding Resource that you want to remove.
  4. To remove your Resource click on the folder with an x.


Edit Resource

Depending on the Resource different options of editing are available. More information can be found in the articles: Measurements, Samples, Dashboards, Workflow Templates, Workflow Step Templates, Workflow Runs, and Connectors. To edit a Resource please follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click on the Resource and choose Edit
  2. Alternatively, tick the checkbox of the respective Resource and click the pencil icon at the top header.


Archive a Resource

Note: Archiving a Resource will archive this Resource globally and thus remove it from all Collections. However it is not deleted and can be restored. To restore a Resource, please follow the steps of the next chapter.


To archive Resources please follow the steps below:

  1. Move to the Collection with the Resource you want to archive.
  2. If you want to archive all Resources of one Collection click on the checkbox in the top header.
  3. Right-click on the Resource that you want to archive and select Archive.
  4. Alternatively, tick the checkbox of the respective Resource and click on the folder with the bottom pointing arrow at the top header.


Restore archived Resources

  1. To restore archived Resources, please follow the steps below:
    1. Move to the Collection with the Resource you want to restore.
    2. Open the Filter View.
    3. Activate the button to show archived Resources.
    4. All archived Resources of the Collection will be shown in grey color. 
  2. After doing so the view changes and all archived Resources are visible in grey:
    1. Right-click on the Resource and select Restore.
    2. Alternatively, click on the checkbox of the Resource you want to restore. After doing so the header changes and you are able to click on a bin with an arrow pointing to the top to restore the Resource.


Permanently delete a Resource

Note: To be able to delete permanently a Resource you need first to archive a Resource. To do so please follow the steps of the previous chapter "Archive a Resource".


  1. To delete permanently a Resource, please follow the steps below:
    1. Move to the Collection with the Resource you want to delete.
    2. Open the Filter View.
    3. Activate the button to show archived Resources.
    4. All archived Resources of the Collection will be shown in grey color. 
  2. Click on the checkbox of the Resource you want to delete. After doing so the header changes and you are able to click on a bin with an x to delete the Resource.


Event log

To access the Event log of a Resource, please follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click on the Resource and select Event log.
  2. Alternatively, tick the checkbox in front of the Resource and click on the clock with the surrounding arrow on the top header.
