Labregister's barcode Attribute enables you to define a unique barcode for samples in your laboratory, supporting both the one-dimensional code 128 and the two-dimensional data matrix.
General Introduction
A barcode scanner is a tool to simplify tracking correct samples and equipment that are needed for your experiments. Using a barcode scanner is strongly recommended for performance reasons.
Once equipped and ready, users may …
- manually add, delete and edit barcodes for inventory items,
- add automatically created barcodes based on their inventory Item IDs,
- print barcodes, and
- copy barcode values to the clipboard.
Using a barcode scanner to find an Item
In order to use a barcode scanner to find a Labregister Item, please follow the steps below.
- Click the search field to activate.
- Use the scanner to enter the barcode information.
- Click enter to execute the search.
The result may look like this, where the Item ID has been used as barcode information.
Bulk printing barcodes
In order to bulk print barcodes, make sure to export the Category in question and to convert it into a CSV file as label printers offer support for processing these. Brady and Zebra seem to be the most used printers while searching for “laboratory label printer”.
