The Labfolder ELN is a flexible tool that allows each user to establish their own individual way of data collection and management. This can lead to significant variations in ELN adoption and quality among laboratory members and can make it difficult to work collaboratively on Projects, as each Group member may utilize different standards. A common way of data collection and organization within a Labfolder Group on the other side facilitates collaboration on experiments and Projects, simplifies data retrieval and allows easier preparation of scientific papers / patents / etc., to just name a few advantages. The following helpdesk articles provide examples of how data collection and organization in Labfolder Groups can be standardized:
- Setting up a Group-wide system for Folders and Projects
- Setting up a Group-wide Entry metadata system
- Creating tags and custom date lists in Labregister
- Unifying data capture with Labfolder Entry Templates
Tip: Create a Template that contains all the data collection and organization guidelines of your Labfolder Group and share it with all Group members.
