When adding a new Entry to a Project on the Notebook page, you can choose between creating a blank Entry or an Entry from a Template. To unify experimental data capture, you can create an Entry Template that pre-defines the structure and order of the content of each Entry within a Project.
Tip: You may want to read the other articles on standardizing data collection and organizing in Labforlder Groups also.
Entry elements are the building blocks of a Labfolder Entry. Each element can be re-shaped and freely moved. When creating an Entry Template, you can use text elements to divide the Entry in several defined parts such as Background information, Methods, Materials, Raw data, Results / Data analysis, Discussion / Conclusion, and References. Placeholders can be used to indicate in which part of the Entry the author needs to add files (Upload file element placeholder) or inventory samples (Data element placeholder). These Templates help to increase the readability of your Entries and make it easy for all Group members to quickly find what they are searching for.
Instead of a Template for an experimental data Entry, you can also create Templates for your weekly laboratory meetings to ensure all discussion and action points are well documented and available for all team members.
