TABLE OF CONTENTS

Talk to Labfolder Go

Labfolder Go was built around the ability to document and recall information by voice in real-time and any environment. As such, every feature has corresponding voice commands - to start, go ahead and say:

"Hey Labfolder"

To learn more about voice commands in Labfolder Go, have a look at our in-depth article and the voice command “cheat sheet”.

Projects

Analogous to Labfolder on web, projects act as folders you can use to structure your data. All your data - notes, reminders, timers, and reports - will be saved in your currently active project.

New projects are created and managed in the web application:

In Labfolder Go, you can switch between experiments hands-free by using one of the following voice commands:

"Hey Labfolder, go to project + [project name]"

"Hey Labfolder, open project + [project name]"

Voice Notes

Voice notes are at the core of Labfolder Go - they allow you to easily take hands-free notes without having to interrupt your experiment(s).

You can record a voice note by saying your wake word - a dialogue screen will pop up and you will hear an audio cue, after which you can start your recording:

If you are interested in how to get optimal results with your notes, feel free to head over to our dedicated article on Voice Notes .

Timers and Reminders

Labfolder Go allows you to set unlimited parallel timers and reminders for different scientific and engineering tasks by voice.

Open Labfolder Go on your mobile device, and set a timer by saying:

“Hey Labfolder, set a timer for [TIME] for [TASK]”

When creating a reminder, Labfolder Go will create an entry in a virtual To-Do list and remind you precisely when you mean to, regardless of where you are in the lab.

To create a reminder, open Labfolder Go on your mobile device and say:

“Hey Labfolder, remind me to [TASK] on [DATE, TIME]”

Photos, Barcodes, and OCR*

With Labfolder Go, you can capture visual observations with photos, scan barcodes to document the ID of your reagents and instruments, and convert machine-printed text into notes in seconds with object character recognition (OCR)*.

* Only on iOS

Capture visual observations with photos

Labfolder Go allows you to take batches of up to 7 photos - collate related visual observations in a single data entry!

You can also add voice notes to your photo(s), enabling you to provide further context or to add remarks on-the-fly.

To capture a photo, tap on the camera icon on the bottom right corner of your screen or say:

"Hey Labfolder, open camera!"

or

"Hey Labfolder, take a picture!"

Scanning barcodes

Using the camera feature, you can also scan the barcodes of consumables, instruments, and reagents in your lab.

Scanned barcodes are saved as a note in your active project.

Tap the camera icon in the bottom right corner of your app or say:

"Hey Labfolder, scan barcode!"

Object Character Recognition (OCR)

On iOS, you also benefit from being able to use OCR. This feature allows you to scan and convert any machine-printed text, such as labels and instructions, to an editable text note in your active project.

To scan machine-printed text, tap on the camera icon in the bottom right corner or say:

 "Hey Labfolder, scan text!"
