Notification Settings

You can use Laboperator to constantly monitor Device channels and get a Notification when a specific event - a data point on a channel - occurs. If an event is met, you’ll get notified in a pre-defined way (see paragraph "Edit/Update Notification Setting"). At any time you can view the Notifications by clicking on the Notifications button in the navigation menu on the left side. Here you can also indicate whether you have read the Notification.

View Notification Setting

To view current set-up Notifications in Laboperator, please follow the steps below:

1. Click on More in the navigation menu.

2. Navigate to Notification Settings. All current set-up Notifications are displayed in the main table of the page.

Add Notification Setting

To add new Notifications to Laboperator, please follow the steps below:

1. Click on More in the navigation menu. 

2. Select Notification Settings and on the top right in the header, click on the three dots. Select Add.

3. A pop-up window opens:

1. Enter a name for the event. 
2. Add a message.
3. Enter a Device and select through a checkbox the channel you want to set up a notification for. 
4. Add a RULE. 
5. Through a drop-down menu select the format according to which the notification is to be oriented.
6. Through a drop-down menu choose a condition. You can choose between equals, unequal, lesser than, greater than, lesser or equal to, and greater or equal to.
7. Enter a value.
8. Click and drag the waffle icon to drag the Rule to a different position.
9. Click on the x icon to delete the Rule.
10. Add a GROUP to group your Rules.
11. Click on ADD TRIGGER to add a different Device and a channel.
12.  Click on CONFIRM.

4. The new Notification is displayed in the overview. You can open it by clicking on the title and here you can adjust/set additional settings. More information in the following paragraph Edit/Update Notification Setting.

Subscribe to Notification Setting

To subscribe to a Notification, please follow the steps below:

1. Click on More in the navigation menu. 

2. Navigate to Notification Settings. Left-click on the Notification you want to subscribe to.

3. Click on SUBSCRIBE.

4. In the details view of the Notification you have now the following options:

1. On the right-side you will find a list of the current Subscribers. Click on the x button to remove yourself.
2. Under Personal Settings, you can click on the toggle button to (de)activate a Notification. 
3. Limit the rate of notifications.
4. Set the delivery method (e.g. In-app or Email).
5. At the bottom of the page, you can view all send-out notifications of this Notification Setting with their Timestamp and also if they have been read.

Edit/Update Notification Setting

Note: You can only change the Delivery Method for an active Notification. Otherwise the option is greyed out. 

To edit/update a Notification in Laboperator, please follow the steps below.

1. Click on More in the navigation menu. 

2. Navigate to Notification Settings. Left-click on the title of the Notification you want to update.

3. In the new window you have the following options:

1. Click on the pencil icon to edit the Event Name and Message of the Notification. The following pop-up window will open:
   
2. Under Personal Settings, you can click on the toggle button to (de)activate a Notification, set the delivery method (e.g. In-app or Email), or limit the rate of notifications. 
3. At the bottom of the page, you can view all send-out notifications of this Notification Setting with their Timestamp and also if they have been read.
4. On the right side, you can click on Add user to other users access to this Notification Setting. The following pop-up window will open:
   
5. Click on the x button to remove a user.
   

Edit/Update Trigger of Notification Setting

To edit/update the trigger of a Notification in Laboperator, please follow the steps below:

1. Click on More in the navigation menu:

2. Navigate to Notification Settings. Left-click on the title of the Notification you want to update.

3. In the new window you have the following options:

1. Click on the pencil icon to edit the Event Name and Message of the Notification. The following pop-up window will open:
   
2. Click on an already set-up Trigger to change Device, Channels, Rules, and Groups. For more details, please skip to Step 4.
3. Remove a Trigger by clicking on the x button.
4. Click on ADD TRIGGER to add a new trigger to your Notification. The following pop-up window will open:
   

4. After Step 3b, a new pop-up window with the following options opens:

1. Click on the current selected Device, to reenter a Device and select through a checkbox the channel you want to set up a notification for. 
2. Add a RULE. 
3. Add a GROUP to group your Rules.
4. Click and drag the waffle symbol to drag the Rule to a different position.
5. Through a drop-down menu select the format according to which the notification is to be oriented.
6. Through a drop-down menu choose a condition. You can choose between equals, unequal, lesser than, greater than, lesser or equal to, and greater or equal to.
7. Enter a value.
8. Click on the x icon to delete the Rule.
9. Through a drop-down window select the link between rules. You have the option between and and or.
10. Click on CONFIRM.
    

Delete Notification Setting

To delete a Notification Setting in Laboperator, please follow the steps below:

1. Click on More in the navigation menu. 

2. Navigate to Notification Settings. Click on the three dots on the right side of the Notification you want to delete and click on Delete.
