Timers & Reminders

Regardless of whether you find yourself waiting on multiple incubations, centrifuges or PCRs, or want to add a crucial reminder to check on your cultures or equipment while your hands are tied - voice-controlled Timers and Reminders are highly valuable tools in every lab.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Timers

Labfolder Go allows you to set unlimited parallel timers for different scientific and engineering tasks by voice.

Open Labfolder Go on your mobile device, and set a timer by saying:

“Hey Labfolder, set a timer for [TIME] for [TASK]”

When a timer runs out, Labfolder Go will sound an alarm and read out the task name you specified in the voice command.

Tips

  • Setting up timers benefits from Labfolder Go’s extensive scientific and technical glossary. In case you find that a term unique to your lab is not recognized, Labfolder Go will usually learn to distinguish it after a few iterations.
  • On iOS, all active timers are listed in the Timer tab. To open it, click on the clock icon located in the top right corner from anywhere within the mobile app.

Reminders

When creating a reminder, Labfolder Go will create an entry in a virtual To-Do list and remind you precisely when you mean to, regardless of where you are in the lab.

To create a reminder, open Labfolder Go on your mobile device and say:

“Hey Labfolder, remind me to [TASK] on [DATE, TIME]”

Tips

  • All active reminders are listed in the Reminder tab, which you can access through the app’s menu (three dashes, top left corner)
  • By default, Labfolder Go will only set an alarm for your reminders if you specify a time.
  • You can set an alarm manually or adjust the date/time in the Reminder tab.
